I had never blogged before until October 16th, 2008. I was on KTLA.com bored out of my mind and was reading a blog about that whole AIG debacle with their binge at some spa in CA where they spent $440,000. It was funny to hear what people would comment about the whole ordeal so I decided to let my voice be heard.
Here is the comment that inspired me to open my own blog (I am Rian):
"No body knows the troubles I've seen.....no body knows my sorrows....."
I actually work for a call center for one of AIG's subsidiaries and I have heard it all from "How can YOU spend $440K on a retreat" to "YOU are spending the money I lent you". I will be the first to admit that going on an expensive retreat a week after receiving an $85 billion loan was unwise but it was something planned prior to this economic crisis and more importantly has not a damn thing to do with me! I just take your insurance payment. I didn't go on the retreat! It's like if Ronald McDonald was found guilty of wearing women's underwear, would you go to your local McDonald's and blame Jimmy the pimple faced cashier for it? Don't crucify the little guy for something the big wig, golden parachute wearing CEOs did.
"Why can't we be friends...why can't we be friends....."

I felt like Ernest Hemingway that day.
